S8UL’s Jonny Secures Spot in EAFC Playoffs at Esports World Cup 2025

Jonas Wirth (Jonny) of S8UL Esports has secured a playoff berth in the FC Pro 25 World Championship at EWC 2025 in Riyadh.

After an intense campaign in Group E, Jonas Wirth (Jonny), representing S8UL Esports, a global powerhouse in esports and gaming content, has booked his place in the playoffs of the FC Pro 25 World Championship at the ongoing Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In a closely contested Upper Bracket Semi-final, the experienced EAFC professional from Germany defeated Italy’s Samuele Prestigiacomo (Samugamer_07) with a 4-3 scoreline. He then overcame Argentina’s Facundo Cowen (Cowen) by the same margin in the Upper Bracket Final to confirm his position in the Round of 16.

The FC Pro 25 World Championship at EWC 2025 features 32 of the world’s top players vying for a massive $1.5 million (₹12.5 crore) prize pool. All playoff matches will be held in a single-elimination format, with Jonny set to take the stage for his Round of 16 clash on Friday, August 8.

“It feels fantastic to qualify for the playoffs,” said Jonas Wirth, also known as Jonny. “Each match tested me, but I remained composed and stuck to my game. I’m honoured to represent S8UL and eager to give my best in the Round of 16.”

Jonny earned his spot at EWC 2025 by finishing in the top four of the Virtual Bundesliga 2024–25, where he won three out of his four group stage matches before falling short in the semifinals.

Regarded as one of the toughest competitors in the circuit, Jonny clinched both the Virtual Bundesliga and the eChampions League last year, and is now flying S8UL’s flag on the global stage.

Jonny’s playoff qualification marks another achievement in S8UL’s remarkable campaign at EWC 2025. Earlier, the organisation’s Apex Legends team reached the Grand Finals, while Chess Grandmaster Nihal Sarin secured a top-8 finish after advancing through the Last Chance Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, S8UL’s Tekken 8 players, Arja Gamoori (Sephiblack) and Nino Schwarz (Nino), are gearing up to compete for their places through the Last Chance Qualifiers.

As the first and only Indian organisation chosen for the Esports World Cup Foundation’s prestigious Club Partner Programme, S8UL continues to bring pride to Indian esports by competing at the highest echelons of global competition. The organisation’s strong showings across multiple titles underline its commitment to placing India firmly on the global esports map.
