Senior Hezbollah Leader Ali Abd al-Qader Ismail Eliminated in Israeli Strike

The Israeli military announced that it had eliminated Hezbollah commander Ali Abd al-Qader Ismail during an operation in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force targeted over 100 locations in Gaza.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Ismail was a key figure in Hezbollah’s operations, serving as a commander at the Bint Jbeil headquarters and was actively engaged in rebuilding the militant group’s presence in southern Lebanon.

“NEUTRALIZED: Ali Abd al-Qader Ismail, a top Hezbollah leader in the Bint Jbeil area, who played a major role in efforts to restore the group’s activities in southern Lebanon,” the IDF posted on social media platform X.

“The IDF will persist in its mission to eliminate any threats to the State of Israel,” the statement added.

Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli Air Force reported carrying out strikes on more than 100 “terror targets” throughout the Gaza Strip within the previous 24 hours. These strikes were executed in coordination with ground troops amid ongoing hostilities in the region, where no truce appears imminent.

Among the targets destroyed in the air raids were militant units, tunnel networks, military infrastructure, anti-tank missile positions, and weapons storage sites, the Air Force said.

At the same time, a day after both sides pulled out of negotiations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former US President Donald Trump appeared to dismiss any ongoing ceasefire discussions with Hamas.

Netanyahu stated that Israel was now considering “other avenues” to achieve its objectives, including the safe return of Israeli hostages and the dismantling of Hamas’s control over Gaza. Trump echoed this stance, declaring that Hamas had shown no intent to agree to a deal and warning that its leaders would now be “hunted down.”
