Seven Killed in Arunachal Pradesh Landslide as Heavy Rains Lash Northeast States

In Arunachal Pradesh, especially in the East Kameng district, heavy rain triggered a tragic landslide that claimed seven lives, including two women and two children.
The landslide occurred along the crucial National Highway-13, specifically in the Bana-Seppa stretch. On Thursday night, a vehicle carrying seven passengers was traveling toward Seppa when a sudden landslide caused by incessant rain swept it off the road and into a deep gorge. All seven occupants, including family members, died on the spot.
Upon receiving the information, rescue teams rushed to the scene despite heavy rain and challenging terrain. After hours of effort, the bodies were recovered from the wreckage. The Arunachal Pradesh government has expressed its condolences and announced compensation and aid for the affected families.

The ongoing rains have severely affected road connectivity across many districts in Arunachal Pradesh.
