Solapur Shocker: Stepmother Held for Strangling 3-Year-Old Over a Petty Reason…

In Mohol taluka of Maharashtra’s Solapur district, a woman has been taken into custody for allegedly killing her 3-year-old stepdaughter by strangulation.

A three-year-old girl was reportedly strangled to death by her stepmother in Mohol taluka of Solapur district, Maharashtra, sparking widespread public outrage in the locality. The accused, identified as Tejaswini Nagesh Kokane, has been arrested by the police on charges of murder.

The child was said to be residing in a rented house near Vadaval Stop along with her father, Nagesh Kokane, his second wife Tejaswini, and her elder sister Aakriti. Both children were born from Nagesh’s first marriage.

According to information provided by the police, Tejaswini had been habitually subjecting both girls to physical violence for trivial reasons such as refusing food or skipping school. On Friday morning, at around 10:30 am, she allegedly strangled the younger girl to death in a fit of rage.

Based on a formal complaint lodged by police officer Ashwini Satish Gholap, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at Mohol police station. An investigation is currently in progress, and statements from eyewitnesses as well as the elder sibling are being recorded.


In a Separate Case

In another disturbing incident, a teacher from a reputed school in Solapur has been booked for allegedly molesting a Class 10 student. The complaint has been filed at the Sadar Bazaar police station.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on April 19, when the accused teacher allegedly approached the student in the school’s parking area, placed his hand on her shoulder, and attempted to pull her toward him. A case has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by the authorities.
