Surat Man Kills Children, Dies by Suicide Over Wife’s Suspected Relationship; Woman, Lover Arrested

In a deeply disturbing incident, a man in Surat allegedly poisoned his two children — aged 7 and 2 — before dying by suicide, reportedly due to suspicions of his wife having an extramarital relationship. The police confirmed that both the wife and her alleged partner have been taken into custody.

As per the police, the deceased has been identified as Alpeshbhai Kantibhai Solanki, aged 41, who worked as a school teacher in Dindoli, a locality in Surat. His wife is employed as a clerk at the Zila Panchayat office.

“When Alpeshbhai did not respond to his wife’s phone calls, she went to their house and found the door locked from inside. She immediately informed her relatives, who broke open the door. Upon entering, they found the children lying on the bed and Alpeshbhai deceased nearby,” police officials said.

Authorities have recovered a suicide note, two personal diaries, and several videos from Alpeshbhai’s mobile phone.

The victim’s brother informed the police that Alpeshbhai was mentally disturbed due to his wife Phalguni Bhai’s alleged relationship with a man named Naresh Kumar Rathod.

“He (Alpeshbhai) was under extreme mental pressure due to this relationship, which eventually drove him to take this extreme step,” the brother told the police.

During their search, the police found a diary in the room where Alpeshbhai had been recording his thoughts in detail for the past one to two months.

The officer stated, “We have seized both the diaries for further investigation. The suicide note runs into 5-6 pages and is addressed to his parents and wife. The content indicates that he was under emotional stress due to the alleged relationship.”

“Out of the two diaries, one is specifically addressed to his wife, where he has written down everything,” the officer added. The police also noted that the couple frequently argued over the alleged affair.
