Surbhi Jyoti Reveals She Initially Turned Down Naagin 3 But Later Agreed Because…
Surbhi Jyoti has revealed that she initially declined the offer to star in Naagin 3, thinking it was not her “kind of acting.”
The actress, who shot to fame with Qubool Hai, shared that she was not comfortable with the idea at first and had even rejected the role. However, someone close to her convinced her to accept the supernatural drama. She also recalled her first meeting with producer Ektaa Kapoor and her reaction to the script.
Speaking to Pinkvilla about the project, Surbhi said, “It is one of the best decisions of my life. I’m glad that I did Naagin.” She added that Qubool Hai and Naagin 3 were completely different shows, giving her the opportunity to play distinct characters.
Admitting that she was unsure in the beginning, Surbhi said, “I was not very convinced. I used to think that it’s not my kind of acting. How will I do it? How will I portray this character?”
It was her husband, Sumit Suri, who persuaded her. “Sumit told me, ‘If you want to do something on television, why not do their number one show?’ At that time, Naagin was number one,” she recalled.
Talking about her meeting with Ektaa Kapoor, Surbhi said, “Oh my God, she narrates a story and she has this superpower over you. At that time, if she had told me to play the role of an ant, I would have agreed. She narrates so well.”
Surbhi also reflected on the concept of the show, saying, “I convinced myself that if Superman can actually fly and Spiderman can make webs, then why can’t a serpent turn into a human? Why can’t we have our own superhero?”
While acknowledging that Hollywood superheroes have larger budgets, better technology, and more advanced visual effects, Surbhi praised the makers of Naagin 3 for creating a fantastic show with limited resources. She called Naagin the “number one franchise” and commended the third season for its engaging storyline.
