Annamalai: “BJP Will Not Back Down Due to Intimidation Tactics”
In Tamil Nadu, the BJP has been organizing a signature campaign in support of the National Education Policy (NEP). Amid this, the arrest of former Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan in Chennai has sparked political controversy. Condemning the arrest, Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai accused the DMK government of attempting to suppress democratic opposition.
Annamalai’s Statement on X (formerly Twitter):
*”The Tamil Nadu police have arrested former Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for leading the BJP’s signature campaign in support of the National Education Policy, which provides quality education and the freedom to learn preferred languages for children from poor and underprivileged backgrounds.
For sixty years, the DMK has commercialized the Tamil language while allowing the three-language policy only in private schools. Today, their hypocrisy has been exposed.”*
Annamalai Criticizes the DMK Government’s Approach:
In his statement, Annamalai pointed out that while the DMK government permits the three-language policy in private schools, it opposes the same in government schools. He claimed that the widespread public support for the three-language policy has caused Chief Minister Stalin to panic, leading the DMK to suppress democratic expressions of opinion.
“BJP Will Not Retreat Out of Fear!”
Annamalai assured that the BJP would not be intimidated by such arrests and that the party remains committed to advancing the National Education Policy. He called on the people to recognize and stand against the ruling party’s suppression tactics.
Direct Questions to Chief Minister Stalin:
*”We will take this message to every household in Tamil Nadu. How many people can you illegally arrest, Chief Minister?
The National Education Policy provides quality education for even the lowest-ranking members of your party’s cadre, ensuring free education in government schools with opportunities to learn multiple languages. Why are you opposing it?”*
BJP’s Continued Resistance:
With the ongoing debates over education policy, language policy, and the NEP in Tamil Nadu, the BJP is intensifying its challenge to the DMK government. In response, the DMK is firmly maintaining its stance. The next political moves by the BJP could further escalate tensions in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.
