DMD General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth has insisted that the Tamil Nadu government should implement a proper plan to save water by constructing barrages in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement issued by him in this regard, he said that the Karnataka government, which did not give water to the farmers when they asked for it, has volunteered to open the dams and this event has proved that everyone is equal in front of nature.
Noting that the Karnataka government, which did not agree with the Supreme Court verdict, has knelt down before Mother Nature, he has also said that all the dams in Tamil Nadu are overflowing today.
Moreover, Premalatha Vijayakanth has accused DMK of not being able to achieve anything by convening an all-party meeting, directly meeting Prime Minister Modi and passing a resolution on the Cauvery issue, and continuing the case in the Supreme Court.
He has asked the government to wake up from its slumber and protect the water available to Tamil Nadu by constructing dams and save not only the farmers of the delta region but also the farmers of Tamil Nadu.
