Former Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam has said that the DMK government should put pressure on the Karnataka government to open the Cauvery water.
In a statement issued by him, the Cauvery Management Committee has ordered the Karnataka government to release 1 tm of water to Tamil Nadu every day.
But O.Panneerselvam also said that the Karnataka government’s statement that it cannot release water to Tamil Nadu is highly condemnable.
He also said that this speech of the Chief Minister of Karnataka is an act of insulting the Supreme Court.
In this case, DMK government did not come forward to talk or put pressure on the Karnataka government regarding the opening of water, he said in the report.
Moreover, the Tamil Nadu government’s silence is an act of deceiving the farmers.
Further in the statement, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should immediately talk to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and implement the order of the Cauvery Regulation Committee.
