While many say that the Congress won 99 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, it shows that Rahul Gandhi’s influence has increased, but election consultant Prashant Kishore has expressed the opposite opinion.
The results of the Lok Sabha elections in our country were announced last week. Despite most exit polls predicting the BJP to win 300+ seats, the BJP could not even secure a single majority.
With BJP winning 240 seats, BJP forms the government with the support of NDA alliance. Congress won 99 seats. This is the first time in the last 3 elections that the Congress party has won so many seats.
Prashant Kishore: In the meantime, Prashant Kishore has given an interview to a famous English media regarding the Lok Sabha election results. Prashant Kishor had also said that the BJP would win 300 seats and retain power. He has opened his mouth for the first time after not giving any comment after the announcement of election results.
Rahul Gandhi’s influence: Although the Congress won 99 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, it cannot be said that Rahul Gandhi’s influence is increasing, said Prashant Kishore. In this regard, he further said, “Congress has won 99 seats.. This may have given confidence to Rahul Gandhi.. but it has only given confidence among his supporters. It has not given confidence to the public.
With the Congress winning 99 seats, many say that Rahul Gandhi’s influence has increased. But, there is no truth in it.. This victory has only boosted Rahul Gandhi’s image among his supporters and Congress workers. They are now confident that Rahul Gandhi will bring victory to the Congress party,” he said.
Let me say for example.. when you think your son is going to become bail then you will be happy if he gets 60 marks. But if your son gets 90 marks and gets 70 marks, you will be unhappy,” he said.
Worst election: Prashant Kishore, when asked about it, said it was the third worst election in the history of the Congress, with the Congress winning more seats in states like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
He further said, “When Indira Gandhi lost power in 1977, the Congress won 154 seats.. So winning 99 seats cannot be said to show a resurgence of the Congress.. There is no alternative opinion that it shows that they still have a chance here.”
20% Missed: Talking about the continuous wrong prediction of the election results, he said, “Yes, my prediction was wrong. It is true. My prediction was wrong up to about 20%. I had predicted that BJP would win in 300 seats. But BJP won only in 240. 20 % BJP won less.
At the same time, I had said that there is no anger in the country against Modi. The election results show the same. There is dissatisfaction with the Modi government in one or two places.. but there is no widespread anger across the country. It is because of this that they were able to retain their rule,” he said.
