This Star Kid Acted With Rajinikanth as a Child — Now They Are Clashing at the Box Office!
In the unpredictable world of cinema, fortunes can change rapidly. Child artists often grow into leading stars, while established actors sometimes quietly fade from the spotlight. A striking example is a former child actor who once shared screen space with a superstar and is now releasing a film in direct competition with his former co-star.
Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to release on August 14. Produced by Sun Pictures with music by Anirudh, the film boasts a star-studded cast including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Upendra.
The movie has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board. Advance bookings opened on the night of August 8, and most theatres were sold out within hours, driven by the Independence Day holiday and the film’s high anticipation.
At the same time, Hrithik Roshan’s much-awaited Bollywood film War 2 is also hitting cinemas on August 14. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie features Junior NTR in a key role alongside Kiara Advani. Backed by Yash Raj Films, the sequel has raised expectations following the success of the original.
The Coolie vs War 2 box office clash has grabbed attention in Tamil Nadu and northern India, while Telugu-speaking regions are focusing on the face-off between Nagarjuna and Junior NTR.
Adding a nostalgic twist, fans are recalling Hrithik Roshan’s childhood appearance in the 1986 film Bhagwan Dada, where he shared the screen with Rajinikanth.
Directed by Om Prakash and produced by Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, the film starred Sridevi in the lead. A touching scene in which Rajinikanth’s character shows deep affection for Hrithik’s character has resurfaced on social media, evoking fond memories among fans.
Box office clashes between major stars are nothing new and are often seen as healthy competition. Ultimately, audiences decide which film resonates most, and the stronger story usually earns the greater applause.
