Twitter management caught up in tripartite legal attack in India.
The Twitter administration has forgotten to accept the new information technology laws of the Indian government. In this situation, it has been reported that the Home Ministry has removed the legal protection given to it.
It is in this context that Twitter is facing a series of legal issues.
Ghaziabad Police has issued a notice to the Managing Director of Twitter India for allegedly spreading a video of an elderly man being attacked in Loni, Uttar Pradesh, with the intention of “inciting religious unrest”. The Twitter executive director had to go to the MD Loni police station within 7 days and he had to record his confession.
The video, which was uploaded by some on Twitter, caused a stir when four people attacked an elderly Muslim man, cut off his beard and chanted “Jai Shri Ram”.
Ghaziabad police have already registered an FIR in connection with the June 5 incident.
The Uttar Pradesh Police has registered an FIR against Twitter Communications India, writers Mohammad Zubair and Rana Ayub, and senior journalist and writer Saba Naqvi.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Special Branch, which visited Bangalore on May 31, is investigating the alleged toolkit, which was allegedly spread against the central government. Police had earlier visited the Twitter office in Delhi and summoned Congress social media leader Rohan Gupta and party spokesperson MV Rajiv Gowda.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information and Technology meets at the Parliament premises on Friday at 4 p.m. A team of Twitter officials has been invited to appear there. The team also includes officials from the Information Technology Organization. Questions will then be raised about Twitter’s refusal to comply with the new ID rules.

Meanwhile, the Congress has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of trying to silence the voices of 140 crore Indians and of not accepting anyone who criticizes him and his government. Congress chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala has accused the move against Twitter and other social media sites of being aimed only at suppressing freedom of speech and expression.
