Unfazed by Trump’s ‘Bullying’, China Vows to Continue Buying Russian Oil: ‘It’s Legitimate’

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that it is lawful and appropriate for China to pursue economic, trade, and energy cooperation with other nations, including Russia

China has firmly conveyed to the global community that President Xi Jinping will not yield to US President Donald Trump’s “bullying” over its procurement of Russian oil.

A spokesperson from China’s Foreign Ministry remarked that it is legitimate and within the law for China to engage in economic, trade, and energy collaborations with other countries, including Russia, Global Times reported.

“We will continue to adopt energy supply strategies that best serve China’s national interests,” said spokesperson Guo Jiakun, responding to a question regarding Trump’s proposed secondary tariffs on China due to its oil trade with Russia.
