Usha Nadkarni Opens Up About Bigg Boss Marathi 1: ‘It Was a Bad Experience’
Veteran actress Usha Nadkarni, last seen in the cooking reality show Celebrity MasterChef, has been a familiar face in the entertainment industry for decades. Among her varied projects was her stint in Bigg Boss Marathi Season 1 — an experience she now describes as mentally exhausting and unpleasant.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, the 79-year-old recalled, “Those 77 days in Bigg Boss — I felt like I had gone mad. It messes with your mind. I don’t know about others, but for me, it really affected my head.”
When she returned home after the show, Usha said she struggled to recognise her own surroundings. “I asked my brother why the hall looked smaller than before. I had even forgotten my telephone number,” she admitted, explaining that being cut off from the outside world led to memory lapses.
She further added, “Everyone behaves like they’ve lost their mind in there. My experience was very bad. If they invite me again, I won’t go — I’ll simply greet them and leave.”
Life After Bigg Boss
After Bigg Boss Marathi, Usha appeared in Celebrity MasterChef, where she impressed both contestants and judges with her cooking skills. Though she was eliminated before the semi-finals, her exit left fellow participants emotional. Host Farah Khan and the judges praised her resilience and determination.
The season ultimately saw actor Gaurav Khanna — famous for playing Anuj Kapadia in Anupamaa — emerge as the winner, with other contestants including Tejasswi Prakash, Rajiv Adatia, Nikki Tamboli, Archana Gautam, and Faisal Shaikh.
