Talking about the result of the by-election, he said, “Let the results of the Vikravandi by-election come in full, I will analyze it and then talk to the media. I will speak decisively about it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. For Tamil Nadu, the results of the by-election are always a surprise.
By-elections are always won by the ruling party. Since then, the results of the elections have completely changed. We have seen this many times. This time also the results have come like that. Especially in the by-elections, many ministers are traveling from place to place. Violations and irregularities are now commonplace in by-elections.
Not the mood of the people: We appealed to the Election Commission that this election should not be held like the Erode East by-election. However, there have been irregularities in many places. If you think that the result of the by-election is the mood of the people of Tamil Nadu, then it is wrong. Because it was never like that before. That will not be the case now.
However, we have to accept the people’s decision. At the same time, all the coalition parties worked hard together in this election. Thank you to the people who voted. So many people have voted for us beyond all the power, money and force of the government. That too is an achievement.
DMK to lose power in 2026: Previously, parties that won by-elections in Tamil Nadu lost power in general elections. Therefore, if this election result is taken as a preview, surely this regime will lose power in 2026 elections,” he said.
