Why Gaurav Chopra Chose ‘Pushpa Impossible’ After A 5-Year Gap
Gaurav Chopra mentioned that his role in Pushpa Impossible is unlike anything he has done before on-screen, which is the key reason he agreed to take it up.
Gaurav Chopra has made his return to television with the daily serial Pushpa Impossible. His portrayal of a professor in the show is receiving praise, with fans showering him with admiration and affection. Speaking about his return to TV five years after Sarojini, the actor recently sat down for an interview and expressed his happiness about being a part of the show. During the interaction, Gaurav shared his thoughts on his character in Pushpa Impossible. He also disclosed that he had previously declined an offer from a major television project.
In a chat with Zoom/ Telly Talk, Gaurav Chopra said, “Before this, I was in discussions for another well-known TV show. I politely said no to the offer. Over the past five years, I’ve received several offers from television. I turned them down as I felt the roles were similar to what I’d already portrayed. I don’t see anything wrong with that. When an actor successfully plays a role that becomes popular among viewers, similar parts tend to come your way. There’s no issue with that. But as an actor, it puts certain limitations on your range.”
Explaining why he rejected the earlier role, Gaurav added, “While turning down the earlier offer, I thought the character was quite similar to what I had done before and didn’t wish to repeat that.”
Going further in the interview, Gaurav also spoke about his character in Pushpa Impossible. He shared that the role is different from anything he has done before on TV, which is why he decided to take it up.
Giving more details, Gaurav said that he plays a lawyer and professor with an air of mystery. But what really caught his interest was the character’s straightforward and grounded nature. “This felt different. It was a challenge. I instantly agreed,” he said.
Gaurav Chopra’s role in Pushpa Impossible marks his return to the small screen after a break of five years. Before this, he was last seen in the show Sanjivani as Navratan (NV) Singh, which aired on Star Plus in 2020.
Coming to Pushpa Impossible, the Sony SAB show follows the story of a middle-aged woman named Pushpa Patel, as she faces and overcomes various hurdles in her life.
