Wife Kills Husband by Striking His Head with a Stone in Tiruchendur – Arrested by Police
A shocking incident occurred in Tiruchendur, Tuticorin district, where a woman killed her husband by hitting him on the head with a hollow block stone during a drunken altercation.
The deceased, 40-year-old Chearmathurai, was a daily wage laborer residing in Sanmugapuram near Tiruchendur. He was reportedly addicted to alcohol and frequently came home drunk, engaging in arguments and quarrels with his wife, Meenadevi. The couple also had a child.
It is said that due to his constant drunken fights, Meenadevi had become increasingly frustrated and angered over time.
On the day of the incident, as usual, Chearmathurai returned home heavily intoxicated and started a heated argument with his wife. The altercation escalated, and in a fit of rage, Meenadevi picked up a nearby hollow block stone and forcefully threw it at her husband’s head.
The impact caused severe injuries to Chearmathurai’s skull, leading to excessive bleeding. He succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot.
Upon receiving information, Tiruchendur police rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination at the government hospital. Meanwhile, they arrested Meenadevi and have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
This shocking event has left the local community in disbelief and raised concerns about domestic violence fueled by alcohol addiction.
