Roman Takes the Spear, Jey Takes the Win: Brotherhood Triumphs at SummerSlam
SummerSlam kicked off with total mayhem as Roman Reigns and Jey Uso locked horns with the powerhouse pair of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a fiery tag match. There were no introductions – just chaos from the start. Reigns and Uso controlled the early phase, even delivering a nostalgic “Yeet,” but Breakker’s explosive moves and Reed’s brute force quickly turned the tables.
Jey took a heavy beating before Reigns re-entered with a series of Superman Punches and aerial attacks. The challengers almost sealed the win with a vicious double-team, but the turning point came when Breakker went for a spear — only for Reigns to absorb the blow. That allowed Jey to recover, hit a superkick, and finish Reed with an Uso Splash.
It was a match packed with big dives, ringside destruction, and near-finishes — and in the end, it was the Bloodline’s unity and toughness that gave them the win. Breakker and Reed didn’t win, but they certainly proved they’re main-event material.
Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss Clinch Women’s Tag Team Titles
As the bell rang, champions Perez and Rodriguez made the first move. Flair momentarily took control, but was caught off-guard by a surprise clothesline. The titleholders stayed ahead until Bliss entered with fierce energy. A missed Twisted Bliss and a crushing clothesline from Rodriguez shifted momentum again. Flair rallied with a moonsault, but Bliss accidentally took her out in a mistimed move.
In a dramatic twist, Bliss acted like she was turning on Flair—only to swerve and kick Rodriguez instead. She pinned Perez and walked away with the titles alongside Flair.
Sami Zayn Defeats Karrion Kross
In a gripping, quick-paced battle, Sami Zayn overcame both Karrion Kross’s mind games and the temptation to resort to dark tactics. Kross, with Scarlett’s assistance, attempted to use a steel pipe, but Zayn reversed the situation with a Blue Thunderbomb. Scarlett then handed the pipe to Zayn, tempting him to retaliate — but Zayn chose the honourable path and threw it aside.
Kross went for a quick roll-up, but Zayn escaped and connected with the Helluva Kick for the victory. Though short, the match showcased Zayn’s mental strength and refusal to be manipulated. Kross failed to break him — either physically or mentally.
Tiffany Stratton Retains WWE Women’s Title in Rushed Win Over Jade Cargill
Tiffany Stratton held onto her WWE Women’s Championship in a match that looked promising but ended up feeling hurried. Jade Cargill dominated early, taking Stratton outside the ring and smashing her into the barricade. She nearly scored a win with her “Eye of the Storm,” but Stratton kicked out.
Momentum shifted multiple times. Cargill blocked Stratton’s moonsault and hit her with the Jaded finisher, only to accidentally place her opponent’s leg on the ropes, breaking the count. Stratton recovered, avoided another Jaded attempt from the top rope, and landed her own finisher to win.
Despite exciting moments, the match felt incomplete and failed to fully showcase Cargill’s capabilities.
Logan Paul Pins Jelly Roll in High-Octane Tag Match
Logan Paul brought the drama even before the match began, ambushing Jelly Roll before the bell rang. Randy Orton was set to begin, but Jelly Roll insisted on starting the bout. He delivered strong shoulder blocks and a big slam to shake Paul. Encouraged by Orton, Jelly Roll even faced off with Drew McIntyre, trading hard slaps and punches before being staggered by McIntyre’s Glasgow Kiss.
As Jelly Roll fell outside the ring, Paul and McIntyre double-teamed Orton. The audience roared when Jelly Roll returned, landing a thunderous chokeslam on Paul. Mayhem followed: McIntyre was slammed but escaped a pin, then hit Jelly Roll with a Claymore. Orton struck McIntyre with an RKO, but Paul threw Orton out and executed a high-flying splash to pin Jelly Roll.
Though it was his debut, Jelly Roll impressed with his grit, while Paul stole the spotlight with a slick win.
CM Punk Defeats Gunther to Become World Heavyweight Champion
Gunther and CM Punk delivered a slow-burning, physical contest filled with intense strikes, technical holds, and near-finishes. Gunther was dominant early on, using powerful chops and mind games. Punk gradually countered with clever reversals, managing to kick out of heavy powerbombs and other high-impact moves.
The tide turned when Punk executed a harsh move outside the ring that left Gunther bloodied. Seizing the opportunity, Punk landed an elbow drop and connected with two consecutive GTS finishers. Despite a desperate sleeper hold attempt from Gunther, Punk broke free and pinned him to win the championship.
The match marked a massive comeback for Punk, solidifying his return to the top of the WWE ladder.
Seth Rollins Returns, Cashes In MITB on CM Punk for the Title
Just moments after Punk’s emotional championship win, Seth Rollins made a jaw-dropping return. Limping onto the stage with crutches and wearing a knee brace, it appeared Rollins was still injured. But in a shocking twist, he tossed aside the props, stormed the ring, and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
With no time to react, Punk was blindsided with the briefcase, and Rollins hit a devastating stomp to win the World Heavyweight Championship in seconds.
This sudden cash-in left fans stunned. Rollins once again reminded the WWE Universe of his cunning mind and opportunistic brilliance — proving why he remains one of WWE’s most unpredictable stars.
